After intensive training and early postings in the Royal Air Force I joined the RAF Red Arrows aerobatic team technical support unit. Their leadership ethic and immaculate operating standards are the epitome of teamwork and accountability. It was an early benchmark for my future.
20 years of commercial success followed in the worldwide medical technology space. My leadership expertise matured in the corporate environment first as Sales Director and General Manager then Managing Director. Throughout my career leadership density at every level, focused people development programmes and immaculate vacancy management were watch words for success and growth.
With Spacelabs Medical, a Seattle-based global medical technology specialist, I won the ‘President’s International Manager’accolade for outstanding leadership. Previously at BOC Ohmeda, I received their cherished ‘Wilkinson Sword of Excellence’, twice in three years, for exceptional team leadership and record-breaking financial performances.
My own business began in 2002 dedicated to reimagining leadership for experienced leaders and high potential individuals in the digital age. Passing on the baton I coach increased executive capacity across the development continuum. As a successful motivational leadership authority, I drive the importance of growth, distributive leadership, people engagement, and task ownership at every level.
I believe success is largely a matter of mindset and delberate choice. It is not complicated nor exclusive to status, uniforms or boardrooms. The key is winning people engagement, having them grasp personal ownership of organisational aims and demonstrating every day leadership mentality.
