Coaching

His life story reflects hard-fought award-winning success during volatile global change, economic tailspin and the inevitable long roads to recovery.

There are variations of coaching across the continuum and a huge range of topics

There are many different ways to deliver and a wide range of coaching styles. My coaching specialism covers all aspects of leadership. I help existing leaders of varying experience to reach their full capacity for coaching others and passing on the baton. I also coach high-potential aspiring leaders toward gaining their first formal leadership appointment.

So, what is coaching?  There are more answers to that question than the number of people who do it, the list is endless.  One simple version is a 'learning experience for an individual or group who have chosen to reach the personal or professional goal ’

A tongue-in-cheek old-adage version says, ‘Coaching is the most illuminating and incisive conversation about yourself you are ever likely to have’. Behind that is a belief that most people never set aside any time for that kind of self-reflection nor know how to go about it.  To begin that task, you need an experienced coach to help you work it through that properly.

Even the best of us cannot say we are as good as it gets, especially in this ever-changing digital world. Staying up to speed and at our best requires a life-long learning mentality. Common converse expressions you hear are, ‘That’s how it is with me, what you see is what you get. My way or highway. I won’t change. I have always been like that, are unhelpful at best. More like the hallmark of a closed mind and time to stop relying on the tired paradigms of the previous century.

Workforce diversity, cultures and communication protocol have increased immeasurably with our six-generation workforces making it nearly impossible to treat everyone the same. You need to treat others the way they want to be treated. Not the way you like to be treated. That is why my first coaching sessions are always free. I want to get to know you so you can measure me up against your expectations and I can discuss my side of the process. I want to know what has brought you to coaching and importantly what you want to get out of it. I am independent and not tied to any proprietary coaching organisation with a one-fits-all standard programme. Whether you are an experienced leader or high potential executive, when you are ready, contact me and I will help you with leadership, mentoring or ad hoc advice.
